Lately, as I surf the internet, searching for information that I need for my lessons, I noticed that around 90% of the info that I got in BM medium actually come from Indonesians. That got me thinking. Where are the information that comes from Malaysians? The educational ones, I mean. I know that a lot of Malaysians do write stuff on the internet. And I also know a few educators that write on the internet via blogs, Facebook page or YouTube. I know it's not easy to upload educational content as writing takes up a lot of our time. Even like this short entry.
Maybe we just like to write in English. I did have a page in English since I had to teach in that language. But then, since we switched back to BM, I'm a little bit concerned for the lack of content in BM. The challenge that I face from my current students is, they mentally block almost everything that I showed them if it was in English. If it was a video, it has to have a subtitle or I will have to translate to them for time to time.
I guess this is a reflection to me too. I have been trying to translate the pages that I had written some time ago (though not much), and hopefully........ I do make a significant contribution to our education. Wish me luck!
